Washougal 8-22-10

On August 29, 2010, in News, by Dave Turner

Last Sunday was a blast!  I raced the 30+ Intermediate class.  Along with racing Power Yamaha Kawasaki was working with Crazy Money productions to make a video of all of us riding!  My self and the crew from Power all wore Crazy Money’s go pro cameras during our races.  Should be some good footage of racing.  I finished a strong 6th place out of 15 intermediate riders and felt great on the day.  I feel I have the strength to run a good 6 lap moto but still having issues with my prosthetic leg sweating after about lap 4, which makes cornering tough and just keeping it from turning becomes paramount over charging the remaining laps.  I’m working with Summit Orthotics and Prosthetics to remedy the problem and hope to have a new system soon so I can contend with the leaders of the intermediate class!  Either way I love riding and racing so make sure to come say hi and watch for me this coming weekend as I will be representing one of my great sponsors Power Yamaha Kawasaki at the Top Gun race at Washougal over the labor day weekend!  As soon as the video is available of last weeks race I’ll post it..

Washougal and PIR

On August 13, 2010, in News, by Dave Turner

This past week has been alot of fun! I have been riding practices and raced at Washougal last sunday finishing a strong 7th place against some super fast 30 intermediate guys with great track conditions! They ran the new section back through the trees befor the finish line and with the longer track I had some issues with my prosthetic leg sweating so the last 2 laps were a little tough for me. I rode practice at Albany Wednesday night and really felt good on my 2011 Kawasaki from Power Yamaha Kawasaki. Then rode last night at PIR. finishing a strong 4th in the 30 intermediate and we were gated with the 250 intermediate class. I got a strong start both motos and finished mid pack in the 250 intermediate class but just couldn’t make my way around the guys in my class. Watch for me at Washougal in a week as I’ll be riding and racing the intermediate class again. Also come say hi while I’m at Albany MX on Wednesday night for practice.

Thanks

On August 13, 2010, in News, by Dave Turner

Just want to extend a special thanks to Jon, Dave, Matt, Wes, Drew, Danny, Dennis and the whole crew at Power Yamaha Kawasaki for their continued support throughout this year. X Games was a test of will for me after tangling with another rider and going down I broke my prosthtetic forcing me to pull off the track after leading the first couple laps. I’m working hard this year to make sure qualifing is easy and to redeem myself at X Games this next year! While in LA I met the coordinator of winter X and have an invited to race adaptive x snocross at winter X this coming winter! So along with riding and racing as much as possible this summer I will be making my way back east to possibly compete in select national snocross races that will feature adaptive races. I’m working hard to promote my sponsors in a positive light and appreciate everything that has came through in the past few months. Check out my sponsors page on www.daveturner148.com for the most up to date list and make sure to support them when looking for product for all your moto needs!!

The X-games Track Layout

On July 13, 2010, in News, by Wes Hare
Here's the track design for x games this year!
Its in the LA Coliseum. So that means we'll be going up and out of
the arena like the races in the 80s and early 90s.

Getting ready for X!

On June 27, 2010, in News, by Dave Turner

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t update lately, I’ve been as busy as I could be! After the weekend in Michigan riding extremity games I got home and took some time for my ankle to heal. I twisted it badly in my first motor of the day at Extremity Games and rode 3 motos with it swollen and hurting. It took about a week for the swelling to subside. So since I’ve been back things are busy, I’m going to start doing a blog for dirt rider online and have been working on getting new bikes for X through a local shop. I’ll get you guys a full press release of it when the deal is complete! They’ve been in my corner for a couple years and have really stepped up support for this year! Along with the bikes I’ve been in contact with Nate Adams and Deft Gloves. They’re sponsoring the trip down to LA and I just received a fed ex box of gloves and shirts. So make sure to check them out at www.deftfamily.com and show them some love. I’m planning on going to LA the week before X and get some riding in at the local tracks and do some things with my good buddy Chris Denison from dirt rider magazine.

So as it goes I’m as ready as I’ll ever be and need to say thanks to everyone who has helped me make this whole deal a reality. I truely appreciate e erything you guys do and look forward to continued success with your help.
